Blacktop looks great when you first put it down, but it may take a few years before you see a problem. Our solution- making sure the sub-base is sound and compacted properly while providing the proper thickness of asphalt. Taking the time to chip away the high spots in the concrete where the belgium block meets the drive end maintains a consistent thickness and prevents cracking and breakage. When sections are replaced, big or small, we sawcut and dig out to a solid base. The proper agregate is installed, compacted in lifts. And with patches, we use four inches of I-2 topped with 2 inches of I-5 tacked along the edges to ensure a long life.
